Company History

02/1996 - Intellimar, Inc. founded as marketing and sales consulting practice

In 1996, Intellimar was formed as a marketing and sales strategy practice. The company derived its name from the words ‘Intelligent’ and ‘Marketing’. The firm focused on serving customers in the US industrial security marketplace and specialized in a variety of core strategy services including channel management, branding, product development, federal sales and corporate strategic planning. The firm’s clientele grew steadily and included organizations such as Raytheon, IrisScan and the American Society for Industry Security (ASIS) (of note, Intellimar wrote the 5-year strategic plan for ASIS).

In late 1998 the firm decided to function as its own business incubator and launch new companies that would capitalize on emerging business opportunities in the security industry. Although the consulting services component of the business is not actively marketed today, these core strategy competencies are actively used to build and grow new Intellimar companies.

04/1998The Intellimar Sales Associates Division opened to provide sales services in the Mid-Atlantic States

Intellimar recognized a market need for a sales representation firm that specialized solely on physical security products. Products included, but were not limited to, specialty door systems, guard booths, and barrier systems. The company developed new sales models that included innovations in distribution and a focus on product approval at the federal level. Within a short period of time the Technical Representation Division was the number one sales organization for most of the manufacturing clients it served. Today, this division still actively markets and sells product for a variety of manufacturers in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

12/2001GovSupply division formed as GSA Contract GS-07F-0100M was awarded to Intellimar, Inc.

Intellimar anticipated new market opportunities (prior to 9/11) for a single-source security contractor/integrator whose principle function was to integrate emerging technologies such as blast/glass hazard mitigation and perimeter security for federal customers. In mid 2001 it prepared to launch a new division, GovSupply (www.govsupply.com), to serve the federal market. GovSupply currently holds the single largest GSA federal supply schedule (34,000+ products/services) dedicated to supporting the physical security needs of federal customers by protecting federal facilities and their occupants against terrorist attacks.

Today, GovSupply serves federal and commercial customers both domestically and abroad. The company continues to innovate with new product and service offerings.

11/2004 - GovSupply Division spun off and Incorporated as Concentric Security, LLC

As demand for its products and services increased, GovSupply grew very quickly. GovSupply became a primary contributor to the almost 3,000% 4-year growth rate experienced by Intellimar, Inc. Within the 3 years since its inception the GovSupply division’s product, service and customer mix had expanded and changed dramatically. Intellimar spun the GovSupply division off and incorporated it as the wholly owned subsidiary, Concentric Security, LLC. The name, Concentric Security, more accurately reflects this exciting presence within the security market. The name is drawn from the Concentric Rings Approach to layering security. Today Concentric Security serves both governmental and commercial clients. Also, it provides other growing market offerings including national service/warranty services.

12/2004 - Blue Ember Technologies, LLC established to manufacture state-of-art security technologies

The latest addition to the Intellimar family of companies is Blue Ember Technologies, LLC. Blue Ember Technologies is a manufacturing company whose primary purpose it is to develop, produce and market unique security products for today’s demanding security requirements. In addition to developing product for its own use, Concentric provides contract manufacturing services to firms in the US industrial security marketplace.
